Why Should I Join CAFAA?

CAFAA consists of over 200 fire alarm system professionals in the State of California, united by a strong commitment to the California Fire Alarm Industry. Each member receives a Membership Directory that lists all other Association members. CAFAA provides many Training Seminars each year, at discounted prices for CAFAA members, and our members receive up to date information by attending our regularly scheduled meetings throughout the State. The latest information and technology in this industry is provided to our members. As a member or a guest you can attend any of our regular scheduled meetings.

Roundtable meetings are held at eight different locations, four times each year in Southern California, 4 locations in Northern California, and the annual meeting is held in Palm Springs.  As a member you can attend any or all of the meetings. It is the perfect place to find out what is going on around you and to network with other fire alarm system professionals and local/state Authorities Having Jurisdiction that share our common goals.

The CAFAA Website is compiling on-going current information of reference materials that members can access. And speaking of access, the CAFAA Board Members can be reached by mail, phone, fax or internet. CAFAA works in cooperation with other associations and local/state agencies to provide our membership with information from the, Automatic Fire Alarm Association (AFAA), California Fire Chiefs Organization, California Building Standards Commission, the National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA), the International Association of Fire Chiefs, California Fire Prevention Officers (North and South), California Department of Labor Relations, California Alarm Association (CAA), California State Fire Marshall Office, Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), Western Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (WBFAA) and National Institute for Certification Engineering Technologies (NICET) and many others.

CAFAA is a non-profit organization representing the fire alarm industry for over 35 years.  Your company needs the quality information that is supplied for updates on codes and verification of agreement with local fire jurisdictions.  We are a service to the fire industry and state of California.

Included in our 8 member meetings, CAFAA has 3 major events each year where members meet city, county, and state officials that attend our sponsored events. A trade show and seminar held in Palm Spring’s, help people learn the latest in fire technology and products. A round table meeting in Sacramento with state officials and a seminar in Buellton to sponsor and meet with the State Fire Marshal and Fire Protection Officials at their annual event.

Ever had a question regarding occupancy or fire codes for installations in your area? We have a board of 13 Volunteers and a membership of over 200 members from the fire service industry who can help provide information and receive interpretations directly from the state.

Join today and stop guessing about your situation or requirements, which could be costly in the future.

Your membership entitles you to local and national updates and future NFPA and ICC code adoptions.

In addition, as a member you are entitled to purchase books (in our on line Bookstore), in many cases at an extremely significant discount. Depending on your membership category (e.g. Government/AHJ), purchasing just one copy of the CA Building Code and one copy of the CA Fire Code will save you almost $150.00. The cost to join the CAFAA as a government agency is only $100 - so you save $50.00 immediately and become a CAFAA member for the year.

What You Have To Offer CAFAA

United we succeed and divided we fail. Your dues are important to keep CAFAA functioning, however, in addition to your dues; you have something else to contribute (namely your time in the form of active participation on one of our many committees, and your ideas on how we can improve services to our members). Together we can develop progressive standards for the Automatic Fire Alarm Industry and support sound legislation affecting the Automatic Fire Alarm Industry and the safety of life and property. CAFAA needs you and you need CAFAA.
